Home » Holiday Greetings and NEWS for 2023

2022 has been a very memorable year with many opportunities for celebration at Fort Edmonton Park.

Meeting new people, donors and developing strong community partnerships.

Through our Fort Edmonton Foundation CARES (Creating Accessible Responsive Education for Sharing) initiative which ensures ALL children, youth, and families, within our community, have access to Fort Edmonton Park’s programming and award winning facilities.

This year we were able to expand the opportunities to include field trips, day camps, Fort School and we welcomed over  400 children to Fort Edmonton Park as a result of this initiative working with partners from local schools, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Boys and Girls Club Bigs and Littles program.

We created history by sealing a  time capsule this past summer which was filled with items capturing what life is like in Edmonton today, and some key historical moments from our past! The Time Capsule in the front plaza will be opened 50 years from now by future generations and visitors to the park.

Our Foundation works closely and in collaboration with Fort Edmonton Management Company (FEMCo) to ensure Fort Edmonton Park is a world-class living history museum right here in our city.  It’s an absolute pleasure to work with the FEMCo leadership team and staff each day – truly passionate people who believe in everything Fort Edmonton Park represents.

Our Strengths, successes  and challenges in 2022 are turning into amazing journeys in 2023! The Foundation is excited to reveal that we are working together with our partners and expanding capital projects within Fort Edmonton Park!

In 2023 we will be launching  a campaign in early Spring supporting our iconic 107 Steam Train and Train Station!  Everybody loves everything about our Train – no matter how old you are….stay tuned for more details as we move forward!

We are happy to share that work is underway on the renewal of Tom Thumb Miniature Golf – we hope to see you practicing your putts during the 2023 Fort Edmonton Park season!

Thank you for your commitment and on-going support for the work we do! We can’t do what we do without you! My wish for each of you, in this ever changing environment, is that you’re able to take time this holiday season, to spend time with those closest to you and celebrate with each other. Happy Holidays from our Fort Edmonton Foundation team! See you at the park next year!
